Art Urban Design Plan | Scottsdale, AZ

| Scottsdale, ringed by desert mountains, is blessed with natural beauty and a healthful climate, but explosive growth threatens the very sense of place that draws people there. We collaborated with landscape architect Cliff Garten, Scottsdale’s Department of Planning and The Cultural Council on a pilot design program for two city districts. Developed through intensive community outreach, the plan integrates art at many scales – landmark objects, architecture, landscape, streetscape. A public-private partnership is driving the implementation. The first project, a soccer complex, is nearing completion. |
